So picture this… It’s Monday morning, you expected to feel fresh from the weekend but instead you had to drag yourself out of bed to complete your morning ritual: eat, brush your teeth and dress yourself. You get in the office (just in time) to be told you have a big meeting with some very important clients tomorrow.

This is the part when the panic starts to creep in, but there’s no need to worry as you can handle this.

It’s common to feel the pressure when you know you have an important meeting that you have to perform well in resting on your shoulders. However, they key to any meeting is to be prepared, and with these simple to follow five tips you can walk in to your meeting with confidence

Do your research

When meeting clients there is a certain expectation in place, they expect you to know a little bit about their company which means you need to do your research.

If the company in question has a Facebook and/or Twitter page then you should be following them. See how they interact with their customers and what their online presence is like, if you can share with them that you follow them online you will instantly receive some brownie points.

Knowledge is key

Be prepared to be asked lots of questions. Even though you can’t predict what questions are going to be asked you can instead be fully prepared for whatever curve balls they throw at you. Be able to answer their questions confidently and correctly will show them that you have done your homework and that you are prepared to work hard.

Brainstorm ideas

A good brainstorming session will leave you feeling hyped up for the meeting in question. Getting a bunch of good quality ideas together will leave you and your team feeling excited and enthusiastic. Also, presenting fresh new ideas to your client is bound to impress them for all the right reasons.

Dress for the part

Heard of the famous quote “Dress for the job you want, not the job you have”, well this is a prime example of how this quote fits in to real life situations. You want to look smart for a meeting, like you mean business. Dressing smart will make you feel confident which in turn will give you a boost so you can tackle your meeting head on.

Get your 8 hours of sleep

We’ve all had days at work were we have sat down at our desks and thought “why didn’t I go to bed earlier.” Some people see being tired as part of the daily grind, but it all falls down to how much you rest. If you have too many late nights too often then you are bound to feel stressed, tired and not up to working hard.

Make sure on the night before your meeting you allow yourself time to get at least 8 hours of sleep, this means that you should wake up feeling fully rested on the big day.
